5 Ways to Fight the Sunday Scaries

5 Ways to Fight the Sunday Scaries

I’m sorry…does that picture not just scream “come sit here and relax”? Just me?

Whether you want to admit it or not…we all get the Sunday Scaries. I know I’m so guilty of this feeling and this Sunday might be the scariest (yet, exciting)…the week before school starts! We all know how hard teaching and education is, but maybe, just maybe if we try to do some of these things on a Sunday, we will be able to start the week on a more positive note.

Below I’ve compiled some ways to help combat the Sunday Scaries. I know I will be taking my own advice on this one!

Self Care

Yeah, yeah…we all talk about this one, but do we ACTUALLY do it? I know some of my favorite self care things are simple and don’t even take that long! Journaling, face masks, sitting in my massage chair, or even just meditating for a few minutes and tuning out the outside world.

Do something that makes you happy!

We all have different interests, so find something that makes you happy. If you find something that’s quick and doesn’t take up a lot of space, time or energy to set up or clean up you won’t do it. Maybe you like to read, make art, take a bath, whatever that may be. Do something to make yourself happy before the work week!

Plan something fun to do

Schedule something fun to do on Sundays to keep your mind off the week ahead and focus on just living life

Go on a walk

Lucky for me, I have a somewhat high maintenance dog who looooves her walks, but by the time we are a minute or two in I realize I probably needed it too! I love putting on a podcast or some of my favorite songs while I am walking. Depends on if I’m in the mood to learn or just tune out my thoughts!

Relax!

Allow yourself the time to relax on Sundays…you know the week will be busy and hectic and revolve around everyone else when you’re at work so schedule in some time on Sundays to relax and focus on you

I know what you’re thinking…wow, I wish I had time to do this. Trust me, you do! You have to pay attention to what you spend your time doing and be intentional about it. This coming from someone who also complains about the same thing *face palm*

Have a great school year and try to not let those Sunday Scaries get to you!

Keep blending,

Hayley
