Podcast Recap: Episode 22
It’s important for all teachers, veteran teachers and new teachers alike, to slow down sometimes and keep things simple. Ask yourself, “What do my students need?” We noticed, especially after the COVID pandemic when students were forced to do school from home, that there was a big gap in the skills and abilities of our students. We needed to break things down and go slow. Even though it is a few years after the pandemic, we still see effects of it and really, everything we talk about in this episode are good things to keep in mind for your teaching in general!
In this episode, we talk about all kinds of ways to keep things simple in your teaching to help your students (and you!). Listen in to how we pretend our students don’t know anything we’re teaching about, decide when to do at a slower pace and when to go faster, how to break things down into smaller chunks, have checks between steps, have students teach FOR you, and more! Every student is different, every class is different, and every teacher is different! Find a way to simplify your teaching that works for you and your situation. Enjoy the episode!
Keep blending,
