Teaching for Artistic Behavior is usually thought of as a choice based art classroom. We wanted to learn more so we invited expert, Jen Ferrari, to join our show and talk more about it with us! Jen is an art teacher who follows the TAB philosophy, is the president of Teacher for Artistic Behavior, Inc., and co-hosts a podcast called Tab Storytellers.
It was great to be able to have an open conversation with her regarding some of the assumptions, typical questions, and stigmas that art teachers have regarding TAB. The child is the artist and the classroom is the studio. It is structured in a way that allows students to explore and create while having more responsibility for their own learning.
